Government Funding

In 2003, the Government launched the travelling to school project to encourage pupils, parents and staff to cycle or walk to school. By producing a school travel plan, outlining a series of practical steps, schools have the opportunity to identify sustainable transport options for pupils, parents and the wider community and to improve the environment around the school. Read more information here on the Government’s travelling to school project.

The travel plan requires information about your school including:

  • Your school location / size / type of school
  • Travel problems your school currently faces
  • Results of any surveys you have carried out at your school
  • Proposed measures
  • Timetable for implementation
