Zeta Umbrella

Zeta Umbrellas are a low-cost solution to provide cover to large areas. They can provide valuable outside teaching, seating and eating areas, preventing over-exposure to the sun and let’s not forget the rain! The fabric of the shade is a high quality polyester fabric, 230 grammes per square meter. It blocks out UV rays and is waterproof – even in the heaviest of downpours! Opening and closing the umbrella is made easy with a removable crank or super- quick clamp handle mechanism. The clamp mechanism can be opened and closed in seconds and locked securely with the supplied padlock to protect your investment.

The umbrellas are designed to withstand winds of 22-28 mph dependent on size and model.

There are two methods for fixing the umbrellas. Option 1 is an Inground Sleeve System. This consists of a lower sleeve which is anchored into the concrete and lies flush with the ground. The outer sleeve is bolted to it with tamper resistant fixings. The sleeve is then  secured to the umbrella via a double clamp and a lockable bolt (again, lock supplied). Option 2 is a portable stand. This is a heavy duty  galvanised steel base with the same mechanism as the inground sleeve clamp fixing attached. Concrete slabs supplied are then used to create a weight to secure the umbrella into position. Around 8-24 concrete slabs are supplied alongside each umbrella depending upon the size of the umbrella. The base has adjustable feet positioned in each corner to level the umbrella if the ground is uneven.

Optional valances can be added to the umbrellas and also a guttering system can be provided. Please call the Sales Office for a full quotation.

There is a wide selection of  colours available. The most popular shades are listed below; however, please contact us as other colours and patterns can be obtained onto the valence at no additional cost.

Professional printing is also available at an additional cost. The fabrics can be easily laundered commercially. Every umbrella is delivered in a rigid cardboard packaging tube to ensure it reaches you as we send it. The tube packaging is dependent on size of the umbrella and for larger umbrellas there will be a wooden pallet.

Funding For Shelters

In 2003, the Government launched the travelling to school project to encourage pupils, parents and staff to cycle or walk to school. By producing a school travel plan, outlining a series of practical steps, schools have the opportunity to identify sustainable transport options for pupils, parents and the wider community and to improve the environment around the school.
